Physics and Issues Behind Nuclear Power
In the 40's some of the most brilliant physicists gathered to understand and control the process of nuclear fission. Today many nuclear reactors have been constructed and provide nuclear energy to light up our lamps.
How does this powerful method of extracting energy works? What is fission exactly? And what is nuclear fusion? Is cold fusion possible? How is a nuclear reactor built? Is it sustainable? Harmless or harmful? What about the nuclear waste?
Jens Gaardhøje will go over the physics and issues behind these seemingly uncontrollable chains of reactions that have changed the course of history and discuss the prospects for its future use.
